Researchers have discovered malware that “can hijack a computer’s boot process even when Secure Boot and other advanced protections are enabled and running on fully updated versions of Windows.”
That’s right, folks! You have a few options: stay on Windows and have the 5 Eyes and 14 Eyes spy on you with Ring Zero access and telemetry, DO NOT update your operating system, or install a Linux distro. There are only two good options out of those three and they are the latter. Out of those two, the lady option is the best!
It goes in this order: older Thinkpad, Open Core, Linux distro and you’re on your way to freedom.

I have most security features disabled, I’ve even deleted the Windows Firewall folder, the only downside being that I can’t install/update Store packages any more, but that’s OK, I get a lot of performance and smooth operation in return. :p But on newer hardware I wouldn’t be surprised if they were able to hijack some Linux distros as well, that’s also probably why the new Intel CPUs mostly have gfx integrated by now, so they have exclusive remote access with advanced display capabilities. Windows 11 works really well with an assload of tweaks, they’ve finally fixed Hi-DPI issues and the integrated virtual desktop is pretty much flawless. I did deactivate Hyper-V, though, I got some very weird issues with that. Sure, in the end you’re probably safer with a Debian, but I’ve so much Windows software I wouldn’t wanna miss at this point.

Windows 11 is Spyware. No amounts of debloating seems to take care of the inherent telemetry that occurs with windows, Intel and NVIDIA. AMD has PSP, too, but it can be disabled in both the BIOS and Device manager.

You’re probably right, unfortunately I don’t have either the hacking skills to confirm it or the nerve to acquire them, since I’m barely getting along anyways. I did notice, tough, with my recent motherboard upgrade, that you can’t shut down the power to the LAN interface in the BIOS any more, it’s always ready to Wake-On-LAN, so I disconnect the power when I leave the PC.

You don’t need having skills. You simply need to monitor the traffic on the OS with software like Wireshark. Windows 10 LTSC is the best thing if you intend on being a Winfag and not learn Linux. Debloat it and you should be okay until 2035, I think.
